This cute little half table was another piece from a truckload of furniture I got a while back. I don’t know if this one is all that old but it is in really good shape other than a few chips on the front edge.
I decided to go with a lighter look for Demi this time. Rather than sanding the old finish off, I opted to paint on a faux wood look with a whitewashed finish.
Demi is pretty small at only 28″ wide, 13″ deep, and 26″ tall. This would make a cute little hallway or entryway table maybe with a mirror hung above it to give it a little more height. Or you could find a cute wall planter like the one I used!
The wrought iron wall planter hanging above the table is one I found at our local Country Fair Mall. If you live locally and haven’t been there you should definitely go! They have a lot of vendors selling antiques, collectibles, and flea market items. I was actually hoping to find an antique wrought iron planter for my patio fence but I couldn’t seem to find exactly what I was looking for. This one is not an antique but when I saw that it was only $16 I decided I could just paint it to look old!
I didn’t like the shiny black so I spray-painted it with a dark brown base coat. Then, I randomly sponged on chalk paint in a celery color. I used acrylic craft paint in a rust color, dabbed on and blotted with water to give it the rusted effect. Then I randomly sponged some dark brown craft paint for a chippy appearance. It’s perfectly paint-chipped and rusty for me! I will probably spray it with a flat finish clear coat if I decide to use it outdoors. For right now, it made a good staging piece for the little Demi table.
Thanks for stopping by! Let me know what you think of Demi
I love that little demi table and if I lived near you, I would rush over to buy it!!! So many uses for a table like that! Great job with the patina on the wrought-iron planter! Looks great. -lisa
